HAMDEN, Connecticut – A new poll of likely Iowa Republican Caucus participants shows Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker holds a big lead over other GOP presidential hopefuls.
The latest Quinnipiac University poll has 21-percent support with four other likely candidates in a logjam for second place. Ran Paul and Marco Rubio have 13-percent each, while Ted Cruz has 12-percent, and Mike Huckabee has 11-percent.
“Walker scores very highly on a variety of matrixes – honesty, leadership, caring about the needs of average folks and his favorability among caucus-goers,” said Peter Brown, assistant director of the poll.
Jeb Bush faces an uphill battle with likely caucus participants. Twenty-five percent of the people polled said he was a candidate they would definitely not support. His favorability rating was negative, with 45 percent of those polled showing an unfavorable opinion of Bush.
