WCCO | CBS Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minneapolis Fire Department says one firefighter suffered a minor injury Tuesday morning as crews battled a building fire on the city’s south side.

According to the department’s Twitter account, firefighters found smoke coming from a building on the 2500 block of Bloomington Avenue South around 9:30 a.m.

Firefighters entered the building, found a fire on the first floor and proceeded to battle it.

Traffic crews blocked Bloomington Avenue at 25th and 26th streets as a second alarm was called.

The fire spread to the roof of the building, but firefighters knocked down the flames shortly after.

About an hour after crews responded to the scene, the fire was out, and an investigation into the fire’s cause was underway.
