INDEPENDENCE (92.3 The Fan) – Akron, Ohio is once again home of another NBA MVP.
Except his name isn’t LeBron James.
Golden State’s Stephen Curry was named the league’s MVP for the 2014-15 season Monday.
“I think he’s had an unbelievable season. I think it’s very well deserved,” James said Monday morning at the Cavaliers shootaround as they prepare for Game 1 against the Bulls. “It’s always great that another kid born in Akron, Ohio can win the MVP too, so I like that.”
Although Curry did not grow up in Akron, he and James were born at the same hospital in the rubber city. Curry edged James Harden for the award while James finished third in the voting.
